Nationalized Fingerprint Database
Ahmedabad: India, the first country in the world to have built the database of fingerprints for forensic use way back in 1897, has again woken up to the challenge of collection and identification of criminals’ fingerprints with the help of national database. The 60 experts from both forensic science laboratories and state records crime bureaux (SCRB)who gathered at Directorate of Forensic Sciences (DFS), Gandhinagar, discussed the new ways to collect, preserve and share the fingerprints in two-day national conference of state fingerprint bureaux (FPBx).
